Jonathan Price

Principal Consultant

Jonathan is Principal Consultant at Renaisi Innovation.

Having both grant-making and research expertise enables Jonathan to support funders and not-for-profits to use evaluation and learning to inform their strategy, planning and operations. He is experienced at bringing together complex partnerships to use systems change tools for improved impact.

Jonathan joined Renaisi Innovation in October 2023, managing a portfolio of evaluations, learning partnerships and grants-plus programmes across the Consultancy and Place and Systems Change Teams. His evaluation and learning practice is rooted in equity and social justice. He specialises in supporting funders and not-for-profits to use data, analysis and insight – and crucially, conversation and reflection – to achieve their ambitions and maximise the strengths of their people, organisations and collaborations.

Since 2006, he has worked in various research, policy and grant-making roles. Most recently, he held Research & Evaluation Manager and Grants Manager roles at Paul Hamlyn Foundation, with a focus on migrant justice and social entrepreneurship. At PHF, he managed over 200 grant relationships and strategic philanthropy initiatives, including pooled funds, grants plus programmes and field-building initiatives aimed at strengthening shared analysis and collective strategy in the migration sector. He also managed evaluation and learning partnerships to drive improvement across their funding practice.

Prior to this, he was a Researcher at the Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS) at Oxford University, where he conducted policy-oriented research and developed expertise in qualitative research methodologies. He was also a consultant for COMPAS’s Global Exchange on Migration and Diversity, an insights and knowledge exchange initiative for the public and voluntary sectors across Europe. Earlier in his career, he spent five years at the No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) Network, supporting local authorities to develop policy and practice for the prevention of destitution amongst migrants. He has a degree in Social Anthropology from SOAS, University of London.

In his spare time, he is a keen violinist, reader and theatre-goer.
