Dear colleagues, partners and friends,
Today we are launching Renaisi Innovation — a new brand and identity for the organisation that brings together Renaisi and The Social Innovation Partnership. we have been working together for two years but this new name marks an important next chapter, rooted in a long history.
Across Renaisi and TSIP, we have spent nearly four decades combined working alongside communities, funders, public bodies and civil society to understand how lasting social change happens. From neighbourhood regeneration and community-led change in places, to participatory research and design, systems-change evaluation and learning, our work has consistently asked a similar question: How can people and institutions work differently to create fairer systems and stronger communities?
Our new strategy gives us a clearer answer.
Renaisi Innovation is a systems change organisation that works primarily through place.
We focus on the places where complex systems meet people’s lives — neighbourhoods, towns, cities and regions — while recognising that many of the forces shaping those places sit beyond them.
Our work brings together community power and participation, learning and evidence, equitable design, and the way funding and investment flow through systems.
We see these as connected. Enabling lasting and equitable change depends on whose knowledge counts, who makes decisions, how organisations learn together and whether resources support long-term change.
The external environment makes this work increasingly important. Across government, philanthropy, public services and civil society, there is growing interest in place-based approaches, community participation and more collaborative ways of working. But the challenge is to translate those ambitions into changes in power, institutional behaviour and resources. That is where we want Renaisi Innovation to contribute.
Our core work remains familiar: learning partnerships, evaluation, research, participatory design and strategic facilitation. What is changing is the clarity with which we bring those capabilities together around a common purpose.
We will also continue investing in the wider field: developing and sharing practice, creating spaces for learning, working with partners to strengthen community-led change, and testing new forms of shared infrastructure that can endure beyond individual projects.
Most importantly, the relationships behind this work remain central. Many of you have shaped our thinking, challenged us, commissioned us, collaborated with us or worked alongside us over many years. Thank you.
We hope the new brand better reflects both where we have come from and the contribution we want to make next.
